I called and ordered mine today. Others might have the same question I did about the outdoors card - if you got it in 2009 (the first year in came out) it is valid thru Dec 31st, 2011, so you don't need to renew that this year.
If your fishing tournaments - you'd want the "sport fishing" which is $76. They always say it will take 4 weeks to arrive but it will usually show up in my mailbox in about a week.
Here is the info and the phone number to order and pay by credit card.
Non-Canadian resident fishing licences are also available through the mail by calling the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources at 1-800-667-1940
Last year I got my Ontario license through Lakeside Tackle. I had to leave my sportsmen card with them. They did send it back to me along with my license. How are they doing it now?? I assume all you had to do is give them the number on the sportsmen card as well as a credit card and you were golden. I am going to get mine closer to when the season opens. Probably going through Lakeside again. I can get my Walpole Island license there too.
BD ;D
I went through the Nautical Mile BP tackle shop. I just faxed them a copy of my outdoor card. I needed a one week license at the last minute. Went smoothly for a decent price.
For the last few years I've been callin Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources also. I received my Outdoor Card from them and call the number also. No driving, no hassles and smooth transition. At one time it was $67.50 when our money was worth more.
When you have time, calling seems like the best price and most convenient. I believe this year possibly, Ontario will finally roll out online license purchases for non-residents. I'll have to check on that again this coming week.
and my license came in a week - it arrived yesterday.
