The link is working for me. It might be the location you are at blocking it for some reason. Other than that, I don't know. In general, Ontario allows Michigan registered boats to have met Michigan / Coast Guard requirements still.

They are getting slowly tougher. You can start here for more information: http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/faq/other.shtml

Anything posted last year or earlier on this site could be slightly out-of-date now. I always check again each year for changes. Ontario has a new required boating license or some such, but when I checked earlier this fall, U.S. boaters only had to have one if they spent something like 45 or more consecutive days in Ontario. I haven't had time yet this year to check for new changes.

Here's a little more specific (and slightly confusing - sorry) information from Ontario: http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/debs-obs-equipment-size-menu-690.htm

Your best bet is to just stay out of Canada. All the good fishing is on the U.S. side anyway. ;)

After checking the link on Dan's latest post my boat meets or exceeds all the Canadien requirements, mostly out of my "better safe than sorry" mind set when boating big water.  I would add an handheld VHF radio to their list.  If your sinking or on fire you won't have time to make a phone call.  VHF just push to talk.

You are correct sir. Tons of sheephead. But I hate to say it, they have saved a few trips where ive taken my son or daughter and they couldnt get on the smallmouth. Throw a wacky worm on aspirin head for the kids, they dont understand what the big deal from smallmouth to sheepie. The reason for the aspirin head is cause my bro has about 40 different molds and the aspirin head is about the easiest to do.

Are you trying to imply that you're still a kid?  If so I have some bad news for you . . . .

I think what Fearless Leader is trying to tell us Waterfoul is that we all have a little kid left inside us.  I know I do.  I sometimes act more like my 10 year old son than I do like a 51 year old man.  Especially when I am fishing. Just ask my wife.   :o    I was watching Zona's Awesome Fishing Show tonight and he was on Lake Jordan in Alabama.  He was catching some nice spotted bass and he was acting like a kid.  He was acting just like me when I get on them like he was on them.

I think I will leave the sheephead fishing to Fearless Leader.  I like that "Fearless Leader Dan "Sheephead" Kimmel".  It does have a nice ring to it.
