I know some of you are still working for a living or Lt. Dan would be changing the name of the this forum to greatlakesgeezeer.com. However, yesterday was the first day of priority registration. If you are a Federation member or a Life member you qualify for the early registration. This year, your old Bass Insider membership also gets you in early. They have done away with the Insider so in the future you'll have to be one of the aforementioned to sign up during the priority registration.
Signing up early gives you a good chance to ride with 3 pros vs the guaranteed 2. The Elites fish full field Days 1 & 2 and cut on Days 3 & 4. Being in that first fifty to sign up is how you make the Day 3 ride. Last year we figured the system out and I rode all four days on Pickwick and on Guntersville. That's 8 full days with an Elite Series pro. I really look forward to it and this will be my third year.
I signed up yesterday for the Pickwick event and the Wheeler Dixie Duel. I know some folks don't have the same agenda as I. I go down because soon I hope to winter in the northern Alabama area. Riding for a day with an Elite Series pro gives you some outstanding spots to try on your own. It is an unique chance to Q&A with the best. I also take a lot of pictures to use on my blog.
Some of you geezers on the board ought to consider the program. I really think you'd like it. We always haul a boat down and fun fish for several days as well. If you travel with a buddy or two the expense side of the trip is not all that much.
Sounds like a good deal. I was going to sign up for an event but when I mapped out all of the tourneys they were to far for the drive for me. Maybe next year one will be closer?
You may want to take a look at the P.A.A. schedule. They fished Table Rock last year and that's a little closer. They have a Marshal like program as well.
