Post by: Got Fish?? on August 15, 2010, 10:38:21 AM
I guess all of you are gearing up for the fall hunt. There are some changes this year. that you should read up in your hunting booklet. Their may be extended hunts or changes in the unit your going to be hunting in. Good luck this year.

Just like last year, you are able to take a hen or tom this fall. Calling in the fall will usually will not produce many birds. Knowing the travel pattern of the birds you are after will be a great help to bag your bird this fall. As the weather becomes cooler the birds will start to flock. The second hatch of polets may still be with their parents. Be shore not to take a juvenile polet. Again read up in your hunting booklet for changes in the unit your going to be hunting in.

Lots of birds this year all over the state. It was a banner year for nesting. DNR says lots of turkeys survived this last summers hatch. Next spring should bring a fantastic hunt. As long as if we do not have a heavy snow fall this year. A lot of the bow hunting gear that go's on sale this winter can be used next spring, don't miss out on the sales.
