Finally found a boat, 2000 Javelin 17 venom, posted here on GLB. I pick it up tomorrow and can't wait, feel like a kid on christmas eve.
Good for you, hope you enjoy your first battleship as much as I did.
Congrats on the boat, I personnally know who you bought it from and I can say that he took excellent care of the boat while he owned it. You should be real happy for many years with that boat.
It is a huge moment in any bass anglers life to get that first one under the butt (seat). I know you'll have a blast this summer. Congrats!!
I remember my first bass boat. Brand new 18 foot Skeeter. Black with red metal flake trim. Sharp looking little boat with a 150 Johnson. Put it in our lake for the first time and motored over to the little store on the lake. A little showing off never hurts. I stroll up to the store taking my time and watching heads turn. I go in and buy a pop and as I checking out a guy speaks up and asks who has the new Skeeter I proudly pipe up, "It's mine." His reply, "It's sinking!" Forgot to put the plug in and my tackle boxes were floating. To make matters worse my wife had dropped me in and had taken the trailer with the plug sitting in the front seat to the cabin. So I was afraid that if I wasn't careful as I inched up on plain and all the water started moving to the back of the boat I would put the back end underwater. Luckily she went up on plain and I ran it to the other end of the lake where the cabin is and ran her up on the beach and ran and got the plug. That's where vanity will take you so be careful showing off that new boat, but you'll have a ball with it!
congrats and all on new boat. know how you feel. bought my 1st brand new v-17 tracker back in 1997 and was so proud of it. had for 6yrs until i bought a older model fiberglass w/ bigger everything from dealership i'll not mention. i was really geeked over this one. had for a month or so and first trip w/it to st.clair the head blows on me. really bummed me out. didn't get back until mid october. have had a few other repairs to it since then and now running great.
enjoy and take care of for many good seasons on the water.
