My neighbor was asking me if there were any decent graphs that he could get that might work on a small boat and double up for ice fishing. What kind of advice might be out there on this topic?
Humminbird 345c i havent tested it on the ice yet though.
i would stick with hummingbird, and i would be careful how cold you get it ice fishing because of the liquid in the lcd screen, get it too cold and i believe you can ruin it!
I used the Lowrance 520c from my boat. I bought the ice fishing kit from LEI which included a bag, mounting plate, transducer, and battery. I think a lot of people are using the M68 since it comes as an ice fishing pack. It's probably cheaper to get the one for ice fishing and then get a normal transducer but I'm not sure. It worked pretty well for me but I've also seen people use just any old sonar unit with an SLA battery and those worked too.
I've heard a lot of people ask and hopefully in the next few years side imaging will come to an ice fishing unit. Wouldn't that be something!!!
