Title: Angler of the year Points systems.
Post by: kgr624 on May 30, 2010, 04:33:47 PM
I was discussing points systems with a group of anglers and was wondering. What do you think is the fairest points systems and why? Does it have to do with weight? Does it have to do with different incriments of points depending on where you place? Is it the same incriments? I have come to realize that all systems have thier advantages and disadvantages. Let me know.

I think the fairest form is a point system for finish position, with a bonus for a limit and big fish.  Awarding points based on weight seems unfair because you might catch 25 pounds in the spring, then the next lake in the summer win with 10.  So you win one tournament and I win two and you finish higher than me?  That's not fair.  But, every system has problems in the loser's eyes.
