Post by: gamehawg on May 28, 2010, 04:07:46 PM
Has anybody been to any lakes in that area lately? I am going up tommorrow with the wife and two boys to fun fish around the elk- torch area. Any info on what stage the fish are in would be great. Also if conditions are right is the west arm or east arm of the bay better?? thanks in advance ...gamehawg.

I live in the area. Birch is warming quickly.(I live on there)It is a tuff lake to fish if you have kids.  The rest of the chain  should be pretty busy with boat traffic but fishing should still be good. Elk  wasn't too hot this winter, but then again the indians have been netting on the chain.  Torch is huge and better suited to laker trolling.  Skeg shoudl be warmign up and is a good lake to drift fish with kids. Lots of perch and bluegills in there.  My favorite is Bellaire. It emcompases all the lakes in the chain into one lake.
