I heard the Humminbird/Lowrance thing was settled.

The Reaction Innovations lawsuits are real. They gave cease and desist orders to MANY companies, not just Strike King.

I got one from Reaction Innovations and had to take mine off my site. They were nice enough to tell me I could license it and give them a kick back on every bait I sold though. The funny part is they sent me the cease and desist two weeks after I pulled the bait from my site! I know the people I get molds from have pulled their beaver copies and are redesigning them. A few of the molds where cleared by Reaction Innovations though as not violating their patent too.

There is another suit that not many people have heard about too. Netbait is suing anyone who makes a craw bait that the outer side of the craw is thicker than the inside were the craws start from the body. There were 10-11 companies named in the suit, including Poor Boys and Pure Fishing (Berkley).

Business is not getting less competitive, that's for sure. Can you get ahold of an 'approved' mold?

Maybe Ford should start suing all the car companies that are making cars, because they do look and function similar to Ford's!!  I think lawsuits and the such are stupid.  You don't see RI changing any of their worm shapes because they look too similar to normal worms, or their buzzbait because it looks similar to every other buzzbait.
