Title: Fishing glasses for us older folks
Post by: dartag on May 02, 2010, 04:39:36 PM
Got tired of switching my Solar Bats for reading glasses when fishing.  Did some research and found Guideline Eyewear with bi-focals.  Ordered a set and have been using them a few weeks.    They have polycarbonate lens and a magnifier in the bottom of the lens. They come in different powers.  Been bed fishing the last week and they are better than my solar bats.  Plus you don't have to change glasses to re-tie.

I recently had to get new regular glasses. I have had bifocals for a few years. I too got tired of changing glasses every time I had to tie. I got perscription Maui Jims at Lens Crafters. A little pricy, but well worth it. Exact perscription as my regular glasses, even the bifocal. I love them, so far.

What color lens did you get..??

I have some costa del mar prescription glasses but wouldn't mind trying some different color lenses out....

The H3o Optics Platinum series are nice as you have a prescription insert, then change lens to whatever color you want.  But, they are a bit heavy.  I've gone to WileyX, lighter, but a bit pricey.  If you are not concerned about weight I have a couple sets of the Platinum that I am selling.

Here's the link to H3O Platinum.  http://h3opolarized.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=H3O&Category_Code=H3O_PLATINUM_EDITION (ftp://http://h3opolarized.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=H3O&Category_Code=H3O_PLATINUM_EDITION)

Did the same thing here,
had a pair of Rudy Project full wraps made with my bi-focal script, scratch resistant, polarized, glare etc etc...pricey, but would not trade them for anything....

I think they offer 4 or 5 different color lenses

the price for getting old I guess......
