Just wanted to post and wish all of the anglers fishing this weekend on Patoka Lake good luck and I'll see you on the water! Can't wait to start up on tournaments again this year!
Havent had much time to get on lately so this isnt new news but for those of you wanting to know about Patoka here are a few results. Terry and Doug Tucker won the first day with 16.65lbs. Rob Miller and Gary Sitzes won on day two with 19.51lbs. And on day three Ben Nielsen and I won with 19.77lbs. All the results are up on the NBAA website. There will also be updates on the winning patterns, lures, etc in a few days. Just a little heads up, you can throw Poor Boys Erie Darters anywhere and catch big fish.
Congrats on the win. Can't wait to hear what pattern you guys had going (depth, lure choice, location, color etc,..) because it was a tough bite for me and my partner.
We finished 43rd on day two and bailed out for the last one because of the storms rolling in. We fished the river and it seemed you literally had to hit the fish on the head to get them to bite. Our fish including practice came out of 2 ft of water or less very tight on cover.
Cant wait to hear the details as well! We had a good flipping bite backs of pockets at the mouth of Painters Creek on Thursday. But with the wind those pockets got muddied up on Friday. We spinnerbaited two fish on Friday for 30th and didnt weigh in our 1 fish on Saturday. Its a fun fishery as the fish we did catch were good ones. But they were few and far between.
What did you different Don because both you and Ben struggled Thursday?
LGMOUTH... shouldn't you be throwing Bass Stopper??
They pulled out a map and said lets fish over here. Then they caught fish.
At least that is what he told me. ;)

Thats it in a nutshell. We basically switched from fishing the wood to fishing the weeds and points. Guess I should of thought of that earlier. The full write up is on the NBAA website now. http://www.nbaa-bass.com/pages/news/patoka_2010_followup.php (http://www.nbaa-bass.com/pages/news/patoka_2010_followup.php)
