Poll
Question:
Boaters vote count more - Which lake do you want to drive to ?
Option 1: Orchard
Option 2: Orchard
:o
Looks like we need a very quick vote. Lets make sure we understand the boaters will decide because they have to haul the gear. I also want to recommend for this first meet - Nonboaters offer to pay half the ramp fee plus gas. Its expensive.
IF this causes ppl to become upset - then we simply keep on schedule.
IF we see that 80% want to go to St Clair - then you cant blame the a crew who is getting reports of $%#^ty to *&^ty fish and some folks breaking into 6 lb smallies (darn crappie lure attact the darndest fish).
My opinion - and my poll can be overrulled by Jack or Tom who are the leaders of this club.

i'm going to white lake
sorry...
I voted in this and should not have.
I do not belong to this club and should not influence the decision on where to fish.
With that being said, if I was a member.....http://www.lscn2.net/charts/lsc_full_chart.htm (http://www.lscn2.net/charts/lsc_full_chart.htm)
I am not in this club either but the choice is easy for the members. St. Clair, St. Clair, St. Clair. I go to Orchard a lot because it is close. Orchard doesn't even compare to St. Clair. I would always choose St. Clair first and foremost. But that's just me............... ;D 8)

At this point and time I think we should leave it as scheduled and fish Orchard Lake. It's kinda late in the game to switch lakes, especially for those that have smaller boats and didn't want to go as boaters for Lake St. Clair.

I think it should stay on Orchard. Much effort was put into having club meetings, scheduling the lakes and season,...etc. this is exactly what derailed the process last year. As a club leader, I recommend we leave the season schedule as it was developed. If one of more of our members wish to change this, bring it up at the next membership meeting and see what the direction the other club members wish to go.

I"m not fishing this event, but...
I agree that once we pick a lake let's stay with it.
Last minute changes mess everything up.
We do have some of our events where we've picked a back up. It was my understanding that the back ups in those cases were if we had to move because of weather, small craft warnings etc.
The next time we meet, I think we need to establish some ground rules, and then stick by them.
I think we should put somebody, or a couple of people in charge. If a last minute decision were needed to be made due to say small craft warnings or whatever, we don't have the procedure in place to make the decision.
Questions that come to mind:
Do we need a board of directors? Officers?
Tournament director?
By laws?
Do we need written procedures for things like how partners are picked?
How lakes are selected?
Who calls meetings, and locations?
As much as bureaucracy can be a pain in the patoot, it does give some direction to things when we all know what's what.
Let's stick to the schedule. Hopefully we haven't scared off any participants by this hick-up. I also agree with Fiker as to having a board and basic bylaws. It will make the club more organized and stable.
Welp - It was 3 boater for st clair and 3 boaters for orchard. Bob O - come back to Orchard - I thought there was overwheming requests - but it was a split - hence why we do polls. Lets set up to be at Orchard 15 min before the launch opens at 8 am - it is a small parking lot. Everyone go back to the Orchard lake confirmation thread to get our pairs set.

You guys are crazy! If you don't fish Clair I will never ....................
Agreed guys. We can't make last minute changes. Let's not go down this road again. We don't need the negative image if we want to get new members. I agree with Jack. Once we pick a lake it's picked. So from here on out, unless it's for weather or safety reasons, we will not be entertaining changing lakes that are already scheduled. Anyone got a problem with that? Take it up wit yo momma. :P
FYI Gentlemen, the DNR launch at Orchard Lake does have gate at the entrance and I have never known it to be closed or locked. You can probably get into the launch much earlier to start your club tournament. Good luck and let's hope the rain holds off until late late afternoon or evening.
