Whos coming out to take my money at the paper tournament on Kent Lake May 7th?
It is always my first good bomb of the year. I know Jeff will be there to beat me out of the back of Nowyarkus boat. This is always a great tournament, usually our biggest turnout of the season. Lots of good bags, er, paper weights brought in.

Hopefully i will be there.
I'll be there. Hopefully I won't draw a shore beater. I don't know if I could handle that for 4 hours.
I will be up at Wixom that day in a Club tourny.
PB... I don't ever wanna fish that lake unless we're in the same boat in a team event. I would just rather mail you my money and save the gas!!!
i will be there. going to follow PB all day.. looking at the weather to go out one day next week. thurs and fri look good.. the carp are jumpin..
ss
I cant catch them in a tournament there. I always bomb. I wouldnt be worried about me when there is money on the line on Kent Lake. I am cursed to finish 7th or even worse, 12th :o
Jeff is the one to worry about out there. I just ride his coat tails. I got a feeling he will be upsetting a few people thisyear from the back of the boat.

I will be there to donate my money as well. I have never caught a fish there before august. I keep trying to fish the boat docks but I can only find a few and they are to far apart. Maybe I should look for some other structre. Poorboy will you take me fishing on kent lake and show me how to catch CHEETAMS. ;D

Try fishing by the dirt launch with the single dock Charlie Moore launched out of... :D
I will be there, hopefully the fish will co-operate.
I'll be there! Jeff will be limited to 2 rods and 1 lure ;)

There are no tournament hours listed on the website, at least not that I could find. Launching from the West launch.
I would like to get out there this week but I don't know if I'll have my trailer brakes back together. I had to order some parts and they won't be here until Thursday.

Kent Lake Paper Tourney this Sunday ... May 7th ...
The West Launch - the same as last year ...
I asked the park to open the gates for us by 5:30am lets hope they do. Last year it was was about 5:45 when they opened up. I will get there about 5:00 - 5:15 am am and we will start registration when I get there.. I hope to close registration by 6am.
I want to start fishing by 6:30 am - 6:45 am (at the latest) and Weigh-in at 3pm ...
It should be a large turn out once again this year and I have several new memebrs coming out.
Last year we had a 48 memebr field and this year I expect several more.
Don't forget your Golden Rule "Weigh Master" Bump Board and an Ink Pen ... you will be asked to show them at registration. I will have approx 6-10 boards available to buy for those who don't have one already.
I am ready to start fishing .........
Hope to see you all there!
Seems to be some confusion about East verses West... launch that is. I've never been to the West launch. Just heard it is smaller and shallower.

lots of water at the west launch... drove through yesterday and there was a truck with a Gambler Trailer on the back.. dual axel so it must have been a larger boat.. also lots of shore parkiing and Goose Doo Doo...
West launch is much better for tournaments because you can beach your boat there. There isn't a lot of area near the East launch unless the sailboats are out...then you can tie up to one of their docks.
Does anybody know were I can buy the golden rule "Weighmaster" bump board??

anthony will have some there for sale..
I've seen them at the major places too - Gander, BPS
anyone going out on thursday.. i will be there around 11:00 if it doesn't storm... lots of carp jumpin..
Anthony only has about 6 golden rules left, so if you can find one at the store, buy it. Plus you will save about $2.00 which you can use later to buy me a beer.
I will be at the east launch to redirect people to the west launch. the tournament is going out of the WEST LAUNCH.
There are a ton of patterns out there right now. A bunch of smallmouth have already spawned and are very very skinny, but we are looking for length at this tournament so it doesnt matter. Tons of fish on beds and a bunch of pre spawners available as well. Should be a decent tournament. I have not been able to do much pre fishing but the couple times i went, i was able to hook into about 6 keepers each time in about 2 hours. Nothing huge, but Maize caught a nice solid 4lb smallie on a trap out of the back of my boat the other day.
See ya there.

Dude...if we make it a carp tourney, you might as well just hand your money over now...LOL
sounds like a very chilly start for you guys tomorrow. stay warm, be safe & good luck to all.....
Well, I fished this event on sunday.. (If you can call what I did fishing). I thought it was a well run tournament. It was a tough job for Anthony having to tell a couple of guys they couldn't fish because of a lack of co-anglers and I think he handled as best as possible. I mangaged only 1 keeper and lost 2 at the very end, but they wouldn't have helped. I think it was almost 16 pounds to win it. Maybe next time I will do more catching then fishing.
Congrats to Steve Smith ( aka Dartag ) on his 3rd place finish and big bass honors! I cant remember the weight of either, but i know he was up there.
He was bed fishing with a carolina rigged Spro Bronze Eye frog to hull in his share of Kent Lake lunkers.
;D :D ;)
Does that sound about right, Steve?
We had a great turn out with 20+ boats. Unfortunatly, as Kdawg mentioned, we did not have enough non boater and were forced to send a couple boaters away. They could have stayed and fished had they been able to agree on whos boat to use, but some did not want to leave there boats in the parking lot all day.
The guys who did leave seemed to understand the situation and it did not appear that any of them were mad. Those are the breaks when your fishing on paper.
Next stop, LAKE ST CLAIR on May 20th. Another paper tournament. If you plan to fish this event, please pre register ASAP to ensure you will be able to fish with your boat.
