First off, I bought a Grandt All American 7 foot, medium action spinning rod. I went out today, and finally got to use it. I am impressed. It is very light, very sensitive, and has plenty of back bone. I must say that I see me buying more. Awesome rods. Secondly, I bought a new Wavespin reel. I am really in awe over that one. It actually did everything that the dvd said it would. It is very comfortable to hold, the anti reverse is right there, and most importantly, no birds nests. It did get loops in the line on the spool, but they just laid right down in the low spots on the waves. Never an interference in my casts. Long casts with ease. I think I have close to 160 yards of line on that thing, and it casts great. I do believe that it is an idiot proof reel. I will be buying at least one more.....for the wife. But anyhow, I just wanted to give my opinions on these products. I like them.
mike glad to see you like the reel..yes it is good to see that when you buy something that it does what i says it is going to do...I own 7 of the wavespins and getthe same results as you...They are avaliable thru my web site....and always in stock...thaks for the report....
Welcome to the Grandt family. ;D
The Wavespins are quality reels that do what they advertise they will. If I didn't have so many Symetre's I'd own more Wavespins. I do have one that Don Watts gave me.. it has a TON of miles on it and still functions well.
I bought mine from Don at the show in GR. I bought it strictly out of curiosity. I needed another reel like I need another hole in my head. He had a couple sitting on the table of the booth he was at. I played with it for a few minutes, got a few dirty looks from the wife, and took it home. Glad I did. I like it.
