Title: Partner needed.
Post by: fiker on April 25, 2006, 12:12:34 PM
I was thinking of trying out the NBAA this summer on Tuesdays.
I have a partner who now has also signed up for softball on the same nights.

I'm not even sure that I want to fish every Tuesday for the whole summer, but I'd like to try it and see if it fits.  (if ya knows what I mean).

The lakes on the Tuesday league are: Half Moon, Whitmore, Woodland, and Portage lake in Jackson county.

So is there anybody looking for a partner?

Or, and forgive my ignorance, are fishing leagues like bowling and gold leagues where subs are needed?  I could do that also.

Ricker,

Get ahold of me if you can't find someone consitant and want to fish a couple.
I'll fish some with ya if I can make it.
I just don't want to be dedicated every week.

Josh

Are you planning on doing all of them? I know 3 of the lakes don't know any thing about portage in jackson.

On average, how many boats does this circuit draw? Have they ever had trouble launching at Woodland?  I know there are not many parking spots there. Just curious.

I don't plan on fishing all of them.
Unless of course I find out that I'm a terrific Bass fisherman, and am in the money each week.     lmao :D

Thanks for the help guys.

Steckenem...
I wasn't planning on fishing any of them, I was just offering Rick some reprieve if he needed a partner. I think that if he really wanted too, he could fish the tourny by himself. That is if the rules haven't changed, he'd just have to pay for two people.

So don't let me stand in the way if you two were to start fishing as a team. I wrote Rick an email on everything I know about Portage in Waterloo, let me know if you would like a copy and I will try to see if I still have it.

Any of you fellas get a chance to talk to Mr. Yates, make sure you give him a ration of business and tell him it's from me. That guy is one of the best story tellers I've ever met, and since I've known him, I don't think I've ever talked to him without getting my chops busted at least once or twice.

Hey all, Just as an FYI...

The NBAA allows two subs per team throughout the year in a division.  If you are not worried about qualifying for the Classic, then fishing with multiple partners is not big deal.  But both anglers do need to be members of the NBAA to fish in the division.

Hope this helps.

Hey Bosshawg,

We were looking for you last night nd couldn't find you.

I fished with Bill (Stakenem).
We didn't win, but we had a good time.

We're gonna fish Half Moon next Tuesday.  Maybe we'll see you there.

fiker50, i was there.....driving the 'old' skeeter, red in color. did see stakenem's truck as he had the big GLB sticker on window.
we had a blast too!! caught our (5) and then some...we culled three. missed 3rd place. we had 11.2# 3rd went 11.7#. ended up being a nice nite out there.
will be out to halfmoon next tuesday - maybe introduce then, be in same boat as i and partner to alternate our boats after that tournament.

Bosshawg i was part of the team that just beat you out for third ;D...what a great night out there it was awesome having weights like that for a 3 hour tournament! I've got a skeeter also I think 4 of the top 5 places were guys with skeeters :P...I'll have to introduce myself at halfmoon since your pretty recognizable in that skeeter. see ya there!
