Computer Hacker Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison

(March 26) -- The mastermind behind the largest computer hacking scheme in U.S. history was sentenced to 20 years in prison, one of the toughest punishments ever for someone convicted of online fraud.
From 2005 to 2008, Albert Gonzalez worked with two accomplices outside the United States to steal more than 90 million debit and credit card numbers from the networks of major retail chains like TJX Cos. and Barnes & Noble, prosecutors said. His international ring of cyber theft cost banks, insurers and retail companies over $200 million, they said.
