Title: Grandt Spinning Rod
Post by: motocross269 on March 24, 2010, 07:17:56 AM
I have been using 7ft M and MH rods for tube dragging and some other open water techniques...I want to go with a 7' 6" rod this year..I will be mating this Rod with a Shimano CI4... I am looking for a Fast Action M-MH rod....Would like to stay in the 250 dollar price range...Does Grandt have a rod that would fit these specs..Thanks..

I use 7'2" Shimano DS rods for Dropshot..The actions are a tad to slow for Dragging tubes (Just to give you an idea what I am looking for)

the xlh70 series has the option of different grip materials.

C=Cork
F=Fixed reel seat

I made some errors and had to correct.
The website is being updated and some things were out of place.

Grandt is in Minnisota doing a show. If anyone wants rods let me know. I can have them shipped from there. Just PM me and I will shoot you a quote on any rods that you need.
If we group these we can save on shipping.

I went to the website to click on the break down of the models at 7' 6" and I couldn't get it to come up......
If we go with the XLH series can we get the little small mouth bass applique put on the blank???? lol
I would really like to feel one of these rods in my hands before ordering...You and I live fairlly close Madwags..It doesnt have to be a 7' 6"..A 7 footer in Medium and Medium heavy should give me an idea....

What reel seat do they use on the XLH??...Guides???

I am looking to make a change on Rods...Shimano bought out Loomis so I want to support made in the USA where I can....(I know currently Loomis is still made in the US...BUT....)

Go ahead and send this order in and I can get my stuff next time....I hate to spend a couple of hundred bucks without feeling the rods...I wish I would have been at the shows..

Bob

All last season I cranked the depths of St. Clair with a 7' Eglass Medium Action Rod.
I was really impressed with how few fish I lost after hook up.
My nephew noticed as well and bought one for this season.

Retail is 229.00
GLB price is  approx. 157.00

Yes you can get any fish you want on a special order at no additional cost. If you order today I can see what fish are available in the size and action you want. A 7'6" MH action rod is more likely to have a Striper on it than a Smally.

Grandt uses a variety of componenets including but not limited to PacBay, Alps, Benchmark and even has some of his own components that he is having manufactured. The guides on the xlh70 series vary but fo the most part are black stainless frames with titanium inserts. You can use all types of braid without any problems.
