Title: Open Water
Post by: Durand Dan on March 13, 2010, 02:18:41 PM
Went by Lobdell today and launch water was open. Looks like the channel to Bennett lake is almost clear. About a week more and it should be dog fish time!

Well, I got the boat all cleaned up and everything seems to be working good. I'm going to dump it in at Lobdell tomorrow and see if it floats! ;D

Drove by Pine Lake, Orchard Lake, and Upper Long Lake today on the way home from work.  Lots and lots of ice.  Maybe they will be open by the weekend........maybe not.  Getting the boat out of storage on March 24.  Heading south.  I don't know how far I will go.  I may not have to go too far by then..........but then maybe I will.

Going to head out n a minute. Going by White Lake (Oakland), and maybe Pontiac, to check things out. I need to be near water.

I am sure there is plenty of ice on both based on what I saw on Orchard.  Usually the first lake in Oakland County that is totally thawed is Long Lake across from Union Lake.  Maybe Dartag will chime in and let us know how Long is.

Heck no, but I was driving down Lakeshore and sure enough, someone is out there fishing already. For crying out loud! Darn it all to heck! I still have alot to do to my boat before I can launch. Speaking of launch, I wonder where the heck he did launch?

Heading to Ponemah tomorrow afternoon to give it a try. Anyone else going to give it a try? It is supposed to top out at a whole 40 degrees. Might have to bust back out the ice armour!

I drove the lake shore of St clair today and it was ice free from what I could see did not go all the way up to the st clair river. Think I might put the boat in next weekend and give it a run the pike are on fire in the spill way up at the 14 mile dam might try the mouth see what I can find.
