Title: I got to get out of here
Post by: Got Fish?? on March 07, 2010, 07:13:23 AM
A lot of lakes close to me have no ice. I'm starting to get the itch. Any one washing any lures yet from shore. Or maybe putting their boat in and going to the river for eyes?

I caught a hammerhandle yesterday bank fishing the Shiawassee. This morning we are heading to the shores of the beautiful Flint river to see if we can hook up with a Wally

you must be way south of me.  ( union lake )  went for a walk yesterday.  still 18" of ice and about a foot of snow near shore where the sun does not hit.  going to be a while here.   the rain next week should help.

We are on spring break right now and I'm spending my time on creeks and rivers fishing for steelhead. They put up a great fight. Caught tons of little yearlings, chubs and browns.

If my work doesn't schedule Saturday,I may actually get a chance to wet a line.  *crosses fingers*

MI BASS Kid "I'm spending my time on creeks and rivers fishing for steelhead. They put up a great fight. Caught tons of little yearlings, chubs and browns."

I'm on break the first week of April.  Where did you go to fish, and was it from shore?

I really want to know what lakes you're talking about because based on what I saw today (March 16) on the way home from work, it's going to be another week at least.  Maybe your hallucinating.  The golf course will be thawed before any of the lakes.

Rick I have been fishing in parairie creek, the rogue river, and the grand river at the 6th street dam.  mostly fishing in the river (neoprene waders help out). You can fish from shore mostly anywhere on prairie creek. but right now the rivers are blown out. waaaay too much water in them they are up all the way to the top of the banks. easy to fish from shore, but hard to catch anything.

It's awesome! Buddy had a limit by 8 AM on saturday. I fished right in "downtown" rockford and we went 3 for 5 with 2 of those right around 30 inches.

Finally got out to my pond. Caught 4 on a small suspending jerkbait. Now i'm REALLY not looking forward to this snow this weekend and the colder than average temps next week.  :-\'
