Title: TBF Mtg?
Post by: SethV on February 09, 2010, 11:20:28 AM
So what are the results from the TBF mtg on Sunday?

I attended the talk by Mike Cox - very good and it was great to see that someone in his position cares about the Asian Carp problem.  I guess it is no surprise that the "Illinois" white house does not support closing the Chicago locks.

I heard it was a good meeting (I did not make it). This is what a board member told me (and I remember... I think) deadline for not paying the extra $25 membership to fish the July state championship was extended to April 1 by the board (or really just clarified since they previously announced it would be after the Grand Rapids show), so hurry up and get your memberships in if you want to fish for free.

The 3 bylaw proposals by Monster Bass were not passed, but 1 by Jack Cahn was passed. Something to do with membership in good standing / requirements / or not meeting requirements. I'll wait to see the language before I go any farther.

I forgot to ask who got elected. I think there was an early board position election? I originally assumed Josh Kolodzaike was a lock for that...

I believe the clubs also decided to have a 1 hour fishoff if there is a tie at the state championship for 1st place, but wait until you see the minutes before you trust my memory.

Lots of help, aren't I?

You pretty much got it down, Dan.

You didn't mention the part of the meeting being extended another 45 mins cause Mojo wanted to "use a white board" to track the big bass weights of the top 15... (sorry Mike!) for the tie-breaker.

Josh did get the Conservation seat.

I just got done shoveling the drive and am too dang cold to remember anything else relevant...

I felt certain specific details were not that important after the fact...

Good for Josh.

No good for shoveling. I got off to a start tonight. I'll finish in the morning... I imagine there'll be another 2 or 3 feet for me by then!!

I had to mention it since that is over 40 mins of my life I'll never get back!  (That is meant as a joke, folks.)  Gone.  Forever.  Poof.  Besides, it was all in good fun since I hadn't seen or talked to Mojo since Fish-n-Friends.

There were discussions of the up coming conservation efforts to build fish structures with the DNR's blessing this year that I forgot to mention... (hope I got that one right).

There was also a reminder of the upcoming fund raiser at BPS this Saturday.

As Seth said earlier, it was good to see that AG Mike Cox is not dropping his fight to keep the carp from invading the Great Lakes.

Well, back to clearing the driveway.  Stupid city cut down the trees in the field behind our house which helped keep the winds and drifting somewhat tamed... not any more!

The bigger deal is the TBF needs voluteers to help out at the BPS on Saturday...
