Post by: Mike S. on January 17, 2010, 08:04:07 PM
My wife just let me buy the new 7.3:1  KVD Tour Edition reel!  I can't wait to get it.  That will be awesome for burning spinnerbaits!  Just had to share.

Don't buy one Mike! You will never try to use a baitcaster again! ;D

That reel is new for 2010.  KVD was talking about that at the UFS in his seminar.  I own at KVD reel that is about 6 years old now.  It is a 4.1:1 ratio that is excellent for deep cranking.  I have it on a 7 1/2 KVD Quantum Fiberglas rod that it came with.  If I can remember I think I bought that as a package from Bass Pro.

It is especially good on the deep ledges of Lake Chemung and Cass.  Deep diving crankbaits is what I bought it for.

I can't wait to get it.  I am also going to put it on his brand new tour edition rod, 7'2".  I checked his out after his seminar, and decided I was going to buy that set up just for spinnerbaits.  Can't believe my wife hasn't killed me yet for spending almost 500 bucks on a rod and reel on top of buying my new Grandt rod at the show.  I got a good deal on the reel.  Found it on ebay new, for 239.95 buy it now with free shipping.  Didn't really need it, but I sure WANTED it.
