LM was last summer. I went out for a short trip one morning in my little 10' boat and caught this one:

Of course I had no scale and only my camera phone. Measured 23" long and was fat, it dwarfed pretty much all other bass I have ever caught. Small little lake but it has good ice fishing too with some big gills.

Caught my biggest ever on opening day 1983.  I was 16 at the time and of course have NO pictures to show for it.  Didn't even own a camera at the time.  She was 25" and full of spawn.  I'd guess her to be in that 7 lb range.  A couple of guys trolling near me were appalled that I threw her back!!  I just laughed.  She came on a rattletrap on Glen Lake.

I would think a 25 incher full of spawn would be in the 8-9 pound class maybe heavier.

25" could be huge, one of my smaller mounts is 25 3/4" and that ones 9lb 14oz.

I caught one two years ago on a small lake. Had it mounted, never weighed it. It was 24 3/4 inches. Sad story, my sons dogs ate it while they were here for Christmas this year, LOL.

You may be right... but since I've never caught one like it since then (biggest since then is a 22" 6 lb 1 oz largemouth I have on my wall) I can't really say.  All I know is it was a HUGE fish.  I measured it on the sticker ruller I put on the middle seat of my 14' aluminum boat.  If I still had the boat I'd show you a picture of the tic mark I put on the seat with a screw driver!  LOL!!!  Her tail was really beat up too... might have been a 1/2'" longer actually.

To add to the story... my parents never believed I caught such big fish in our lake since I never brought them home (caught several 35-40" pike and 5-6 lb smallies as a kid too).  I'm an ardent catch and release fisherman, always have been.  About 10 years ago I got my first digital camera.  NOW they believe me!!!  I have pulled at least a dozen 5-6 lb smallies from that lake in the last 10 years... and I only get up there once or twice a year now.

Yes, they ate the mount. It wasnt on the wall. All they left was the wood it was mounted to. Cant understand, all it was was skin and styrofoam.

Thanks, my biggest from wisconsin was 24" with huge girth but didn't weigh it.  My guess is ~8 lbs. and I also caught it when I was very young (12) and I've been trying to beat it every since.  That's the best thing about fishing you never know when you're going to catch a new personal best.

I thought I hooked the ferris wheel in this Grand Rapids Area Lake last summer (there really is a ferris wheel in it!)  The minnow in the 1st pic was a 3.43; the other fish is just slightly larger though;) ;) ;) ;)

We weighed-in over 10 5+ lbers. in tourneys out here last summer and the year before weighed-in a 6.48 officially in a NBAA weeknight tourney BUT THIS FISH WAS WAY BIGGER THAN ANYTHING I'VE EVER SEEN!  I'd have to say judging by the fact that her head was larger than mine and that I could almost fit both my legs in her mouth that she went all of 7 and possibly close to 8 - but I won't know until I catch her again this spring ;D  These pics don't really do it justice.

I have heard ALL kinds of dog or cat ate stories... but NEVER 'the dogs ate my fish mount.' ...honest!! Now that is hilarious. I may have to find another prize for you just for that one.

I mean... of course I feel bad and I'm sorry for you and all... but could you bring in what's left to the show. Maybe we can get a picture of that?!? ;D

I can only share my biggest fish story that I don't have a picture of.

I was prefishing for the Wonderland Owners Tournament 2 Septembers ago with Chuck Reese.

Chuck by the way is one of the finest human beings ever to walk the planet, in case you don't know him.  I am a better person just for being able to spend time with him, and can only hope as quality a person as he.

It was very cold, very windy, and very rainy, but I made the 4 hour trip over there, so we were going fishing anyway.  We caught a few nice ones from a few different places, when I caught the big one.  We were north of Stag I think kind of in front of the gas dock looking thing.  Right after I hooked it, it came up and rolled so I was sure it was a bass.  It then started very slowly swimming downstream and taking drag with it.  We finally caught up with it and it just came straigt up and Chuck netted it.  I hugged it like it was a little kid to take it out of the net.  Chuck just says "That's a big fish."  Three weeks before he caught a 6-8 in the lake and he said mine was "way bigger" than his.  We were kind of in a hurry to get it back in the river since it came out of 35 FOW, and he says to me "I left the camera in your truck."  So, back in it went, with no evidence I ever caught it.  Hope Chuck vouches for me.

Then Wonderland found out we were on a bunch of big fish, so they cancelled the tournament.   ;)

The largest I have a photo of is this one.  She went 22", 5+. I caught it this past November at my parent's cottage right before I put the boat away for the year.

I caught a 23 incher this past spring that was my biggest ever and of course I did not have a camera with me.  Since I have no witnesses or documentation I'd swear she went well over 6#.   8)

i think you all out did me.  my biggest was last year 5lb 9.80z on lake oakland.  one week before the nbaa singles out there, the really rainy cold one.  i fish there often but wanted to pre fish for the tourney, which i sucked at.  2 hours, no fish.  the next hour, 3lb, 3lb, 3.5lb, 4lb, 3lb, 4.5lb, 4lb, my big one, 5lb, 4.25lb. 3lb, 3lb, then i sat, i kicked back, had a smoke, and just thought about how amazing i was, and i went home.  i knew i would win the tourney because i was that good.

tourney time
4 hrs, no fish, so much rain that just the rain dripping of my face had my whole body soaked.  rain gear, no help.  pulling under a bridge i stopped to light up a smoke.  they were a wet pile of mush.  i decided that i love this sport, this is still more fun than work, and i love my work.  but i also decided i love sleep even more, home i went.  if i had had a partner, id have stayed til the end... but sometimes  you can just tell that God wants you to go home now.

I had one of those "God wants you to go home" moments one time.  I went over to LSC for a BFL.  I got there and it was a not very nice, cold, windy, rainy day.  I went out and practiced when I got there, didn't find much, and had this really weird, not good, feeling the whole time.  I got off the water and the feeling didn't get any better.  Then I couldn't find a room for the night.  I called home and was told to come home if it didn't feel right.  So I did.  I drove the 4 hours home and went to bed.  I woke up the next morning and everything felt OK.  So I drove the 4 hours back to fish the tournament teh nest day.  I ended up having a great tournament and become great friends for many years with the non-boater I drew that tournament.  When I told him the story, he thought I was a little wacko.  To this day I have no idea what the deal was, but I didn't question it and it all turned out OK.
