I have a 2005 90hp Mercury with an extended warranty. For the second time since I bought it the started wedged itself in between teeth on the flywheel while starting causing a situation where I had to pry it out with a screwdriver. Anyone else ever have this problem? I it related to another problem? Or is it just a coincidence?
Have you had a service person look at it? Maybe for something that could be changed to keep it from happening again? I have not heard of this happening anytime in recent memory from anyone so I wonder if you could get a solution from a Mercury tech?
Sorry, forgot a key detail... I'll cross my fingers that it just won't happen again. Pretty new motor for something like that to happen. Is it an electric start?
