Art Ferguson and Craig Sherberth have put together a website specifically for us anglers to buy/sell/trade fishing gear and services. Its basically like ebay but only for fishing stuff.
I dont have to tell any of you what kind of connection someone like Art has in the fishing community. This site will be huge. Its just getting started now and there are only a few products listed as of today ( PROvider tackle and Nemesis Baits) but while talking to Art last night, Jay Yelas registered for an account. Its only a matter of time before we will have the opportunity to bid on fishing related items from pros and weekend anglers alike from all over the country.
A big advertising campain is planned to launch sometime in the next few days.
Go get registered and start rounding up the stuff you arent using.
Oh, i guess i should give you the website.

Sweet. Thanks for the heads-up Brian. I've still got a ton of Zoom baits sitting here gathering dust I've got to get rid of.
Jighead... any 4" finesse worms??
Any Flukes? Centipedes? Maybe Waterfoul & I can help u out!
Yes, yes, and yes. Finesse Worms, Trick Worms, Flukes, Centipedes, Chunks, Lizards, Brush Hogs, etc. Send me your emails and I'll send you the list. I have everything inventoried in a spreadsheet. I intended to not break everything up, but rather sell the whole box (a packing box FULL) for one price. But we can talk. Thanks guys.
Shot you a PM with my email address.

Thanks for the heads-up Brian. Very cool site. I expect it will grow pretty fast. I noticed that Dave Lefebre has a Phoenix boat up for auction also. Sweet looking boat! But I will keep my BassCat! 8)

Thanks guys...we appreciate it...Yes, this site is BRAND NEW and we have been getting 100's of hits a day...guys are curious but not certain exactly what its all about...
It's a site where you can sell your fishing gear, boats, electronics, apparel, media, maps, all sorts of stuff....
It's set up for ANYONE to be able to sell your items..... we can help you get started as well and if you are a small lure company like myself and Brian, or just have a bunch of items to sell, you can set up a STORE for FREE until February 1st and then it's only $5.99 a month!!!
It's an alternative to eBay and WAY cheaper. They get ya coming in and leaving...we only get ya leaving...ha...actually, our final sale fees are no more than 5%....so, you sell a $5.00 lure, we are only taking a quarter from you...not a bad deal!!
Thanks again....hope we can all use this to find some real cool, interesting stuff that helps us be better fisherman, or at least look like it!
God bless and good fishing,

Probably not going to be a popular comment but I think those fees are way to high. $5.99 a month plus 5% of whatever you sell then add on the paypal fee on top of that. I dont see why anyone would buy into that when there are many other sites like BBC where you will sell just about anything in a matter of hours and its all FREE. I could see this working for tackle companies or maybe high doller items but other than that it doesnt make sense to me.
I dont know how much could be brought in with advertising but maybe just that aspect could cover all costs to run the site and make out on the whole deal. I do alot of buying and selling of fishing equipment and just had to speak my mind on this since I am very familure with it.
That $5.99 a month is for a store seller to have their own store.
A regular seller without a store pays no monthly cost, only the listing fee/end of auction fee. So based on a $5.00 lure, a basic listing fee with no other option,is free to list. The end of auction fee would be .25 cents (5%)
To insert a 5.00 item on ebay, that's .35 cents, the end of auction fee is 8.75%, which is .44 cents. Ebay just got almost 16% on that sale. We also set up tiers so that if an items sells for more, the percentage goes down.
A basic Ebay stores is 15.75 a month, PLUS 12% of the final selling fee.
Plus, you can pay the seller with money order if the seller accepts it, so Paypal stays out of it.

Would you comment on what steps are being taken to ensure the sellers are legit/fraud will not be an issue. Does Tackle2trade guarentee the items?
Thanks in advance.
If paying through Paypal, the extra security is in there. Unfortunately, there is NO guarantees with hardly anything in or out of the web these days. We can "guarantee" a personal service crew that will help you through most any problem you are having on the site.
I'm not sure how much you trust anyone, but I know when I go to my BANK, they don't even just let a personal check or even corporate check through....my point, even financial establishments have no guarantees.
We have security on the site, even with that, there are hackers and just flat out crazy people out there....we just hope you have an enjoyable experience at Tackle 2 Trade.
I hate answering this question because the TRUTH of the matter is, not many people or companies can guarantee anything anymore.
Hope that helps...just be careful out there in webland....even here on this site!!
In addition - We log everyone's IP address that signs on to the site. If a buyer or seller feels that criminal charges should be files against the other person they have a right to file a police report. If contacted by law enforcement, those IP records, and user information can be turned over with with a subpoena, search warrant, and/or court order. We will cooperate with law enforcement to prosecute someone if they commit fraud.
With that said.....I hope it never comes to that. As an angler, I like to think I can trust other anglers just a little bit more. We all love to fish, and hopefully this is a service that can add to that enjoyment.
