I'm probably going to Lobdell tomorrow. Last year I put the boat up the day before Thanksgiving. I hate to quit to soon.

I am afraid that we are closing in on the end of the season up here pretty soon, water temps are still around 45-48. The last couple of years I fished until the last week of November. I fished in the snow last year and it was fun, but the boat cleanup after towing it home was really a pain. The fishing has certainly slowed down and the fish are all bunched up and not very active.

you guys are my heros for that one.

think i will re-visit the   smith / cheetam   white lake adventure tomorrow.  fish a few hours ,  lunch at the white lake inn,  fish a few more hours then head home.   then head into hibernation.

2 years ago I put the boat up before deer hunting.  We had 60 degree weather in Dec. up to Jan..  I kicked my self then.  Last year I made sure not to winterize it in hopes of getting out late.  Snow for the deer opener, freezing weather through Dec.  Finally broke down and had it done 4 days before Christmas.  This year, only time will tell.  Still want to get out in Dec. sometime and get into those wolfpacks of smallies on Portage Chain like years past!

I have been contemplating putting my boat up for the winter this weekend.  But that one last trip to the hot pond keeps me wondering.  It may be not until next weekend.

Put the boat up for the season last weekend after fishing Dale Hollow in Celina Tennessee.I wish i had some good reports but it was a tough lake to fish.Throw in a storm and a cold front and it just got worse.
Picked up a couple spotted bass and not much else.
Nice looking lake but ill spend my time and money up North.
I really need to get back to Chequamegon Bay.......

   djkimmel,
Find out the prime time to go.I went when the fish were scattered.
I stayed at Cedar Hill Resort in Celina and the big plus was Dale Hollow BBQ 1/2 mile away.
It was a beautiful lake,no doubt but definetly one you must put the time into.
It was a lake i always wanted to fish so i knocked that one off my list.
Hire a guide also. That was my biggest mistake.

My last trip this year was the final day at the Federation Nation Championships on the Haris Chain in sunny warm Florida, in a brand new Skeeter boat.  Now that's a way to go out for the year.  I was pretty sad to see it end, as I will likely not fish again until next March (ouch). :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
