Don't worry spinninbug. I'll talk to a couple of the bigger boat guys and get you into another boat now that Flyin200 had to cancel due to a blown motor. I'll put a change up tomorrow night asfter I talk to a person or two.
i'll fish alone if we have to many boaters, but getting to know more greatlakes bass fishermen is what this is all about right?
i might show up on friday and fish saturday too. don't you just love last min plans?
Yes and yes. Right now, I do need all the boaters I have signed up.
I don't have an auto GPS.
Can somebody post either lat/long for the boat launch, or better yet. directions?
How about the east siders hooking up on the road and we can convoy over.
Im leaving from rochester hills early sunday morn if anyone wants to convoy. I have not checked to see how far it is yet to decide on a time to leave yet though. Anyone intrested in following?
I was just reading on another forum there were 2 trailers stolen recently from muskegon lake launches. Those of us bringing boats, make sure to bring a lock. With increased awareness these thieves will probably just move on to a new lake, hate to see one of us lose a trailer.

OK, This is very easy. From Central and East Michigan take I-96 east to US-31 north. Get off at Colby Rd West / White Hall / Business 31, it's about 18 miles from the junction. Take Colby Rd West through White Hall, you make a 90 degree turn to the North, you see the lake on your left and cross the White River. Turn left at the first light past the river on to Water St follow water street through two 90 degree turns and you will dead end into the launch. Have your $10 ready if you have a boat. It you are not bring a boat I would recommend you park in the spots by the bathrooms or in grass, that way you don't have to pay.
Cy
Good directions Cy. I may just clarify a couple things. Once ya cross the lake/river and turn left at first lights you will be on a side street by condos/marina. Doesn't 'feel' like your going anywhere but it does indeed lead into the ramp. For anyone looking to meet their boater at an easier place, there is a huge parking lot of a grocery store just off the US-31 exit. Its basically across the street from the Wesco station (where the good donuts are!)
Had a nonboater cancellation so I moved the extra adult from my boat and moved people around a little. Only 2 adults per boat now. I hope this is okay for the persons bringing their kids. I will send out a confirmation reminder PM to everyone later this evening.
Wow, I live right here in Muskegon, and I haven't heard anything about boat trailers being stolen. But, that being said, I always lock my trailers, just in case. That's a pretty bold move to pull into a boat launch, and snag somebody's trailer.
At White Lake, there's a decent chance one or more anglers will be within sight of the boat ramp quite a bit of the time so I'm hoping that means we should be okay.

Hey Marc, I like the way you think. (where the good donuts are!) lololol Too bad we aren't fishing together. If the fishing stunk we could put down some of those sweets !!!!! ;D
Maybe we'll just stock up in the a.m. and meet up once an hour or so throughout the day to eat and b.s. You bringin the coffee? Oh yeah, this is a tournament. Guess the b.s. will have to wait till 2pm. Looking forward to meeting you!
Hey Marc, I'm not a coffee drinker but I'll have a gallon of ice cold milk !!!!! I've had donuts from Wesco in Ludington while on vacation. I'm partial to the big Cinnamon fry looking one that has caramel and chocolate drizzled over it with chopped pecans. The name has something to do with a turtle. See ya Sunday.
Wesco donuts rule!! See ya all on Sunday what time are we supposed to be there???? ???
Speaking of Wesco donuts, instead of us donating something to be given away Benchley's is buying donuts from Wesco for breakfast!! :)

Hey that is AWESOME Wendy!!!! I will add this news to the sponsors post too!!! THANKS!!
Thanks to you and Mr. Benchley for that. I want everyone to know I did not ask Benchley for specific help this time because I know how tough the auto sales market is right now. I TRULY Benchley's (http://www.benchleybpg.com/) support of GreatLakesBass.com and I hope members remember to give you a chance when they are thinking about their next purchase. It's where I bought my Pontiac Vibe.
Please contact Wendy spinninbug if you are looking for a new or quality used vehicle!!!

Wendy,
For you and Terry take 31 south to the Fruitvale Rd exit. Go west on Fruitvale to the stop sign at Water St and turn left. Take Water St all the way to the ramp. Water St dead ends into the launch.
Cy
Thanks Cy! We'll be there with donuts!

Hey, Get lots of fried cinnamon with chocolate frosting! FF Jeff likes them too.
Dan, I really hate to do this to you. My son has been diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis, he had a 102.8 fever a couple days ago and although the fever has broke he still has the other unpleasant symptoms. I was hoping he would be cleared up by now, but it is not looking good. I am more than likely not going to be able to make it, so you should not plan on it. If by chance he makes a miraculous recovery I will be there, but I do not want to screw up the boater/non draw. Sorry for the short notice & I hope everyone has a good time.
Sorry to hear that fowlmouth. I hope he gets better fast. We'll miss having you there.
see you guys sunday morning or saturday. i should be rolling in around noon on saturday get lunch, fish a little, get some beers and dinner. let me know if you want to tag along saturday.
ok so who am i fishing with on sunday? i see madwags, and then jason-madwags. madwags is on the non-boater list twice. can madwags fish from two boats at once (that would be a nice trick) :o?
I'm not sure... but he may be able to do that?!? MadWags is the uncle and Jason-madwags is the nephew. They used to share the MadWags name, but I made them split it out... too confusing ;D

bob o,
I will be busy most of the day on Saturday but I think I'm free in the evening. Do you have any idea where you are going for dinner? I would guess you don't yet. I can PM you or anyone else on GLB my cell number and you can give me a call in sometime on Saturday and I will probably be able to meet you and who ever else for a couple drinks and some food. Let me know.
Cy
cy, i used google earth to search whitehall and found three bars, the chamber, the local pub and the wayside bar and grille and there all pretty close to the ramp (whitehall ain't that big) i'll pm my cell number

I have never been into any of those places so I don't have an opinion. While you are hanging out in Whitehall you could check them out and pick the one you like best. Muskegon is also an option it is only about 15 minutes south of Whitehall and has a lot more options for food and beer.

Check this link http://www.greatlakesbass.com/dkopen/dkopenhx.html
You are fishing with one of three anglers that have doubled up in the DK opens.
You will most likely finish in the top 10. hehehe
I on the other hand am fishing with hubby. We are a lock for the.......well.........two old guys in a boat award.

Cy ..... Thanks for looking out for me !!!!!! Love me donuts !! lolol ;D
Hey Madwags... the Uncle...... You may be fishing with the "Hubby" but Terry is 1st class all the way !!!
Unfortunately just lost another boater due to engine break down. I'll check with a couple of you tomorrow evening about doubling up one more boat.

Just call me Uncle Wags!
I know Terry is a great guy and an accomplished angler.
We are going to have a good time.
Hey Dan, if it's ok with Madwags I'll just fish with him and Terry, that way you don't have to do any major changes, our boat is big enough and I comfortable fishing either in the back or up front with Terry. So if it's ok wiht Madwags we can just do that and no major changes have to be made.
Let me know.
Dang Wendy, I was hoping to get your fishing expertise in my boat !!! Awwwww mine's only a 19 footer. Bet we could do it though. :)
Bet we could too. But I've never fished there before soooo who knows. Thanks Jeff! See you tomorrow!! :)
That works for me - thanks. MadWags won't mind. There are one or two other possibilities, but we'll see at the ramp. Maybe one more boat coming. Maybe?
Today was my first DK Open and I just wanted to tell everyone that I had a great time. It was great to be able to put a name with a face. Congrats to Don for winning! Thanks to everyone especially Dan for putting it on.
my first dk open and the first time on white lake, i had a great time even we didn't catch a limit see ya'all at the next open.
oh while i'm here, is it just my rig that gets a rollercoaster ride from hell on eastbound i96 west of lansing? darn that 15 or so miles of highway sucks other than that i had a great time.
Had a great time yesterday, as it turns out I'm glad I was able to fish withTerry, when around noon I started not feeling so great and had to make an emergency run to shore! Then was able to lay down and get a little nap in, that helped some...Still not feeling up to par today but better.
We had a great time seeing everyone again and some new faces! Looking forward to next time already...got home yesterday and was covering the boat and Terry says, I'm just not looking forward to putting her away for the year yet!
As always Dan a great job!
That explains why you didn't look your usual happy self Wendy! I had to big days and was tired enough to not remember things well. Thanks to Don (LGMOUTH) and Genie for stepping up BIG for the weigh in and fiker for taking pictures again. I took a nap last night that lasted until this morning :o so I will have pictures and reports up tonight on the fun event. Glad we had real nice weather.
Thanks so much to all of you for traveling over and being the friendly and patient people that you are!!
If you were the Bass Cat in front of me on the e way I know what you mean. But, we were noticing how your outboard wiggled. We decided that you'd better check your transom bolts. The motor was moving differently than the boat itself.
Not a lot, but it was noticeable.
I really enjoyed Sunday's tournament. It was cool to meet a bunch of new people. I even learned a thing or two from some of you. I am really looking forward to next year's east side tournament! I have been dying to get on St. Clair. I love those smallies. But as I said, it was nice meeting all of you. Can't wait to do it again. ;D
