Title: Florida in late October
Post by: Savage on September 12, 2009, 10:29:14 PM
Anybody ever been fishing in Florida in late October?

I have to hit the Harris Chain on October 25th for the BASS Federation Nation Championship and I have absolutley no idea what kind of bite will be going on down there.  Any help would be great!

The other thing is that I only have until Sept 26th to get any info.  After that it is against the rules to solicit any information about the Harris Chain specifically.  So let 'er rip fellas, I am all ears!

I went down to Florida a couple years ago with Don Fowler when he was the Michigan representative in the National Championship. We fished the Harris Chain for two days the first of November. We fished our way down and stopped to fish several spots and as I said one was the Harris Chain. I have that trip blogged with lots of pictures on my teardropbass.com website. You need to click on the daily blog and then at the top under 07-08 you will find a link to the National Championship trip. I also have the trip on an hour long iMovie DVD. It will give you a very good look at what the whole process entails.
After you look over the blog, and I have a chance to look it over to refresh my memory, give me a pm and or a phone call and I would be happy to let you know what we did. It's not a wealth of information, but we did find one hot spot and a good bait that worked really well. You probably won't be using any drop shotting. Hard to say though. You will see some of the biggest gators I've ever seen!
