Buddy of mine has a Ranger and his keel guard is coming off. He's used the double sided tape that came with it, but it is coming off again. Anybody have any experience with keeping one of these on?
I thought they went on with some type of epoxy - a special bonding agent? Not tape?
Depends on the brand....Hambys are dealer installed and I think they are either glassed or epoxied on...Keel Guard and Keel shield both use basically a two sided tape...
If it is a Keel shield get ahold of them and they will send you out a new one no questions asked....From what I have read once they start coming off it is a losing battle to get them to stay on again....
It is a little work getting the old one off and getting the old adhesive all cleaned off...If you get ahold of the manufacturer there are a few reps around that can help you out...
If it is a Hambys shield then you will probably have to have something done through a dealer..
From what I have read the manufacturers have been very good about supplying new shields to their customers...It is just a matter of going through the labor of reinstalling them...
