Title: Heading to Charlevoix
Post by: Genie on August 03, 2009, 11:02:06 PM
Heading to Charlevoix august 17th ... need info on where to start.  I will be there for 3 days with wife and family.  Never fished there this time of year and would like some help.

Thanks in advance!

I was up there a week later than that last year, and caught all of mine in about 30 FOW drop shotting little gobies.  It is terribly boring to fish there.  30 miles of sand drop offs.  I was using Poor boy watermelon with purple flake.  I can't remember the names of the places I fished, but get ahold of me and I'll hunt them up for you.  Number's still the same.

Head to Lake Michigan & go North or South.

I did catch a 5 in LM to the north.  I sat down in an area that looked good, caught that 5 right away, and the next 18 miles looekd exactly like it, but never had another bite.  Went back over and through that ara to figure out why it was there, but sae nothing to clue me in.  There was lots of fish in the channel, too, but the size is not always there.

I plan on being flexible.  We're staying on Charlevoix and family will be with me so I will have to fish there at least one of the days.

Still planning on heading to Traverse for one of the days as well.  Should probably ask for help there too :)
