Title: South Shore July 17th report
Post by: Mojo on July 24, 2009, 11:05:08 PM
My apologize for this delayed report, but we were able to hit the South Shore Monday July 13th (1 -2 ft waves clear H2O wind out of the West) and again July 17th (rain 1-2 ft waves, clear H2O wind out of the South).  Producers Monday were tubes and some cranks, and only tubes Friday. Mr. UAW was loading em up on his ISG tubes while I never felt the need to switch from Waynes 4" Sand Craw. You couldnt just drag em, you had to pop and fish em, and pretty soon it became clear the Sand Craw mimiced something on the sandy bottom.

What really impressed me was how Bill took printed and electronic input, found what he thought was good  sub points, and within a few casts we found the productive side of an undulation. 20 + more fish in 1.5 hrs. Hats off to some SMART search techniques. I learned alot.

VERY light bite, a tick tick, reel the slack and set the hook on air, 3 of 4 times a fish was on. Anyway this color matches so well to the bottom of that shore of sand and boulder I may even tease Wayne into re-naming it South Shore Craw  ;) ... but I can predict this is one of his steady national colors and its too late for that. However, if you fish the whole lake St Clair this should be a solid staple for you right next to G3 and Canadian Mist.

All in all a dynamite quantity numbers day ..  but alas, maybe 16 and 17 lb days respectively. Wouldnt trade that for anything right now. Hope this helps.  ;D

Nice report.  I like the south shore.  I wish I could get out more these days.
