Dear Fellow Anglers,

Now is the time to sign up for the Wonderland Open. This year it will be an exciting event as Anthony Wright and FLW Outdoors will be handling the weigh-in once again. If you have not participated in this event in the past you are truly missing out. This is our 11th year and the prizes and payouts are second to no other tournament in the state.

Due to recent economic conditions, we are going to have to rely on increased participation this year to supplement lost sponsor money.   If we do not get increased participation we will have to postpone the tournament this year. We are not willing to drop the prize money, as this is part of the major draw to this tournament. EVERYBODY who has fished this event in the past has had a great time and comes back to fish year after year. It would be disappointing across the board if we were not able to continue this tradition. In the past we have typically drawn about 110 boats, this year our goal is to draw 150 boats to make up for the decrease in sponsor contributions. For That reason This year we have a special offer for early sign-up. All contestants that have a paid entry submitted by July 15th will be entered into a drawing for (2) total car detailings and (3) oil changes! This is a value of over $550.


First place is worth $9,000 cash and if you are driving a qualifying Ranger or Stratos boat the prize money gets much higher in a hurry. There are also additional prizes for the top Mercury finisher, and the top Ranger finisher if they are ranger Cup qualified.


With over $33,000 in cash payout to the top 20 places everybody has the chance to win some serious cash. This year we decided to donate 10% of the entry money to benefit the family of Jeff Tyler. For those of you who knew Jeff, you understand when we say he can never be replaced. Jeff passed away this Spring after a short 6 week bout with cancer. This was very quick and quite unexpected. Jeff left behind his wife and two beautiful daughters. One of his daughters has special needs and this extra money we are donating is very much needed. So in addition to having a good time, you can sleep well knowing part of your entry fee is going to help a family in need.
