Title: Union Lake 6/11
Post by: Bobber on June 15, 2009, 03:55:40 PM
I went out around noon to union lake in oakland county. It was a pretty slow day went over by the sunken island by the middle of the lake and got nothing. Then fished over by the matter of taste for the rest of the day and i got 1 smallmouth about 14 inches and 1 largemouth about the same size. Smallmouth was caught on lunch money  lures road kill tube in 20 fow. Largie was on small finnese worm.
This was my second time out there first time was basicly the same thing is the lake always this slow or am i just doing something wrong?

that lake is pretty much alway slow.....  a few people can catch limits out there, but not too many...  i would suggest fishing more of the flats with weeds on them to catch more keepers out there...  i think 20 fow is maybe a little deeper than most active fish out there, in my opinion, nitroderrek

I did see fish around 5-10 feet of water but could not get them to bite
i only caught them deep. What about the sunken islands over towards green lake.

the lake is tough after the spawn and they move out.  follow the edges of the drops.  Top water should be starting to work. white fiukes also are great.   I will be putting my boat if for a few days and will give you a report.  been fishing too many LM lakes and need a smallie fix bad.

My buddy has been catching lots of bass and walleye drifting with his pontoon boat using Live Leaches.  i hate them creepy things.

PM me if you come back and i can tell you what is going on.
