did you check to make sure no line or baits, etc... were stuck down there like happened in BASS??  Just a question.  Are there areas to grease on them?

cable could be bent, I would start checking the cable at the motor end first. not sure what motor you have and if you have all your cables running through a splashwell cable shroud check in there also

I had a major issue with this last year, I found the problem to be inside of the hose that runs from the outboard to the boat. The oil lines were spliced from the factory with a plastic fitting and leaked over time. The oil broke down the rubber hoses (gas and oil) and swelled them, This made the hose "tight" and thus interfered with the pliability of the hose (which is very ness for the throttle cable, etc).

Yea It did thank god,

Dude I was a nervous reck that day I think after that happened I was more concerned with the problem than catching fish you just never know with these things. But got points and heading to Sandusky to try to bounce back you fishing it or what should be a great tournament.
