>:( Just got back from the Indiana Federation Nation top 8 at Brookville. Everyone in our club got a ticket for not having a DNR Lake Permit ($124). No one in our club knew you had to have one. All the lakes in our area are natural lakes that do not require it (DNR told me all lakes in Indiana need it). Apparently certain resivours are the only places that require it. Supposidly it replaces a launch fee, but we still had to pay a daily launch fee. Needless to say, I am done fishing the Indaina Federation Nation. Our club will most likely join the Michigan Federation Nation next year. Sorry just wanted to vent...
TR20, sorry to hear about your run in with the IN DNR. I wish I would have known you were headed there; I would have warned you. I had to buy one last year for a tourney, even though I don't fish the lake often enough to have one. It's 45 minutes away, and after June 1st, the lake is almmost unfishable due to boat traffic. They should have just ticketed you for the $20 ramp fee. Michigan does that if you show up earlier than they do at state ramps. It only makes sense. I got a "ticket" at Burt two weeks ago, but it was only for $8, which is what the ramp fee is for us out-of-towners.
Maybe a well placed email from enough of your club (and us members) to the IN DNR would set them straight?
