Jackie at the BP station has a great tackle shop which has a lot to offer bass anglers including a full line-up of XBT baits. Today (Thursday) I delivered some 5" Canadian Mist, new drop-shot tubes - Sand Craw Ghosttm and the NEW Emerald Shiner with Natural Forage Technologytm built in (you've gotta see this one) plus she filled up the hooks that were selling fast. The New Emerald Shiner is also there in a 4" tube. That's not all!
The bulk bins are filling up with some great colors including a Reaper Products classic design, Spring Craw, bubble gum, light melon with green and purple, Erie Green, Mustad Ultra Point jigs and more...
You can find this shop at the corner of 9 mile and Jefferson next to Lake St. Clair and right next to the 9 Mile launch. Make sure you let her know that you heard about her store through www.greatlakesbass.com!
Jackie got restocked big time last weekend with everything. St. Clair Crayfish is selling out quickly so I'll keep them coming.
One color to look for that is really hot right now is a light melon orange (you might call it Avocado with copper flake). She has that in bulk and I smacked them pretty good on that monday. While you're there, pick up the dark melon orange to fish right alongside of it. The bass will like one better than the other on any given day.
Wayne,
Wanted to thank you for helping make my first LSC spring trip memorable. What an amazing place to be.We should be so lucky as bass anglers. We launched from 9 mile ramp all 3 days and stopped in at the Nautical Mile BP each time. The people that own and run that place are quality people and couldnt have been nicer to us.Very clean and kept up nicely with an outstanding little tackle shop.Your bank account can thank me as we stocked up on some St.Clair Crayfish in 4" and some Canadian Mist. Also grabbed a pack of the G3 and Slither while I was there. For good measure, also checked out some of the goby drops and a pack of the G3/Tinsel 4" Stick Worms. All look great!St.Clair Craw was the order of the day most times.Oh ya,any tips from ya regarding when to use a specific color type with what conditions would be a huge help.
Keep up the great work.Nautical Mile BP and Xtreme Bass Tackle are a perfect match.
Both classy.
Thanks Wayne,
Aaron
Yeah, Jackie does run a very clean operation for sure. Thanks so much for patronizing her and picking up my tackle there. It looks like St. Clair Crayfish is picking up where it left off last year and both largemouth and smallmouth are blasting it. Still getting a good bite on Great Lakes Perch and have seen the drop-shot version of that get fish when other baits weren't working.
There's a real sleeper bait in Jackie's bulk bins and that's a light melon with orange flake (also known as avocado with copper flake) and that's what I hooked up with on Monday on the Mile Roads with smallies. While you're at it, pick up the dark melon with orange flake and throw both out there when you know there are smallies around and they will like one more than the other on any given day.
Thanks for the positive post and I hope you have many more great trips out on Lake St. Clair!
THANK YOU FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!! I RUN A TIGHT SHIP HERE & THANK YOU FOR HAVING AWESOME BAITS WAYNE!! I AM ALSO LOOKING INTO SPONSORING THIS SITE. BY THE WAY, WHERE ARE YOU???
Hey Wayne,
Hope to get some new tubes soon I will be checking out the BP as soon as I get down that way.
Britt
Wayne,
Do you have all your color tubes in a 3 1/2"?
Thanks,
Duane
While Jackie was out last weekend I slipped in and brought more bulk tubes in more colors, some restock and now she has 25 and 50 packs of the popular colors and sizes. The Nautical Mile BP is fully stocked and has great hours. Good luck everyone this weekend!
Most of my tubes come in 4" but the drop-shot tubes are 2 3/4 inch and of course there are the very effective, 5" tubes.
Wayne,
What Tube Jigs do you suggest for the 4" and for the 5"?
Duane
I have some Mustad Ultra Point 4/0 long shank wide gap black nickle hooks in her bulk bins. The sizes range from 1/8 oz. to 3/8 oz. which should cover most situations. You can use these in the 5 inch tubes but it does take a little skill to move the tube around the bend of the hook as you insert the lead head then penetrate the plastic once to bring the hook out once the head is up to the front. I have some 6/0 hooks in stock at the moment for the 5" tubes and you can get those by calling (877) 485-2223. You can also see if Jackie has some longer shank hooks in a different brand too.
Congratulations Jackie at becoming a new sponsor for the NBAA by supplying each boat with some free give aways!
I've attached a copy of the card that was put in each of the packets to this posting. It shows the store, the hours and many of the great brands you carry for us bass enthusiasts.
Yes, Thanks Jackie you donated some great and expensive lures!
Duane
