Going to hit lake orion for a couple hours. Report will follow. Be nice to get a 6lb largie ;D
Got on the lake about 7ish. Water was stained as usual and weed levels seem to be higher than last year. Tried spinnerbaits, lippless cranks cranks and texas rigs in spots where the should be.....not a hit. Lot of lure cleaning though. Found some beds in back with big bass on them. Got them fired up with a nest raider by repeatedly pitching into the bed. Then I pitched a mattlures ultimate bluegill into it. Let it sit nose down in front of the bass for 15 min. It would mouth the tail just in front of the stinger hook. Finally it engulfed the entire 5" 2 oz bait. I set the hook hard and.................................my knot undone. :'( In my rush I did not super glue it. I retrieved my bait but I had to get back home. Better luck next time. Saw a lot of empty beds. The bass on the beds were big but I really did not explore to long as I was on a time crunch. Water temp low 60's.
