I nearly went to an inland lake when my wife canceled and the usual fishing partner couldn't make it, but I decided at the last minute to make my first trip to Lake St. Clair a solo one. Boy am I glad I did. 20+ fish in 4 hours, no fish under 2 lbs, and a handful of 4+ pounders. Since I'm a total St. Clair newbie, I don't really know any of the landmarks. All I know is that I launched at Crocker, went south from there, and then slammed them. I think I'm in love.
Nice job RJ. I haven't been out on st. Clair all that much either, but I believe the area you fished is called the miles roads. I may be heading up there some time this week, weather permitting.
Now you know why St. Clair is the lake of choice in these parts. South of Crocker is the Mile Roads. If you went even further south than the Nine Mile Tower, then you were in the Grosse Point areas which extend all the way down to the mouth of the Detroit River. All good areas this time of year.
BD ;D
I would have to agree that Sunday morning on St Clair was a great time, glad you had some fun. It doesn't get much better than that!
RJ,
Was you in the Triton?
Yes I was. I hope I didn't do anything stupid. If I did, I apologize. I'm not accustomed to fishing around so many other boats. I just figured out how to post pics. It was released within 20 seconds upon landing, just in case taking a picture is stretching the discretionary envelope a little too far for the word immediately.

I can't believe anyone would have an issue with a quick picture and release. Keeping the fish healthy and back to the beds is what is important.
Sounds like you're at least be considerate and know the rules - that is better than many!!!
Nice fish!
No No...that's not what I meant at all, I just thought it may have been you whom missed the turn going back to The Crocker Launch just like we did :-[...
I just thought it was funny, we had no excuse as we have been fishing out there for a few years ;D and still did it
Good choice going to St. Clair!
If you don't have it already, here is a good link for a St.Clair Chart

Yeah that was funny. Thanks for the chart.
