Title: Gel Coat Repair
Post by: rufus on April 22, 2009, 06:42:49 AM
Hey guys, I am looking for someone who can do some work on the gel coat of my boat. Not only the sides, but the bottom of the boat as well. I was under it the other day and it is not in terrible shape, but a few rocks have done a little damage and I would like to get it back into newer condition. I just put a brand new 225 Optimax on it last season. I was going to sell it, but now I have 5 years of warranty so I may as well use it a couple more seasons. It is a 2003 Triton TR21. Some of you know it as the 'ole Silver Bullet when it shined like a beacon on Lake Erie with that big Honda on the back. I am now incognito (and running much faster  ;D 8)) with that black Merc on the back. Anyway, if you guys could recommend anyone who can do the whole boat I would appreciate it. I live in extreme NE Indiana so the closer to me the better, but I would be willing to drive up to 3 hours if someone is highly recommended. Thanks and God Bless!

I have a very good person in Elkhart. He is about 45 minutes from you. He has been in business for 25 years+  and has done many boats. I was there last weekend and he was just finishing up a triton and a ranger. His work looks great, both looked like new. Classic Custom Finishes is the name of the shop. Jamie's number is 574-229-7421.

Thanks Guys,
I heard that there was one in Elkhart through the Grapevine. Depending on the cost and if I have the money I will get it over there yet this spring. If not I will try in the fall.
God Bless!

I'll second Cooper Boat Repair.  Don Stevens is the best by far, especially when it comes to flake.  He's just north of Kalamazoo, and well worth the drive Heath.

Heath, I had my top cap done this spring at Nolley's in Windfall,In. They do all the fiberglass work for Lake Drive and Moore's. Jeff at Lake Drive told me about them. They did a great job on mine.  Rick

Don at Cooper Boat is the best.  He made my boat look like new after being hit by a truck 2 years ago.  I would recommend him to anyone!!!
