Title: Nemesis Video
Post by: McCarter on April 13, 2009, 09:57:45 PM
Chris stopped at Whitmore Lake on his way back from Walleye fishing on the Detroit river last friday and set the camera up to test it out.  Here is the video.  More to come once the season opens.

Very cool. What camera are you using and how did you mount it on the boat. Do you have it moisture proofed? It looked very stable.

Its actually a helmet cam.  It is 100% waterproof to 100 meters.  It is mounted to chris trolling motor.  i think they sell for around $200 but Chris's dad had it so he borrowed it.  Because its water proof, we will be able to get some cool underwater footage as well.  We are going to try to make some very good fishing videos.  We will be working with a lot of local guys who are in the industry to get all of our names and companies/products out to more people.  Gotta stick together in these tough times.

And we will have a few lesser known celebrities involved as well.  Be on the lookout for a day on the water with Gabe Winkleman, Babes lesser known brother.  I wont be able to make that episode, but Chris will be there.  Its gonna be fun.

Let me know when you book Phil Dance on the show... I heard the only difference is he doesn't wear that goofy trucker cap.

Nah, that one wasn't even close.  I always have to keep an eye out for them when they raft up in the fall.  I've had some close calls, but never hit a gull.

I did take a mallard off my head at about 75 mph one evening on the way back to the ramp.  He rolled off the top of my fishhedz; a couple inches lower he would have smacked me straight in the face.

Sweet video.  I want some shot from my front deck.  Any way to improve the sound?  The motor sounded great till she got up on plane.   :'(

nice video.  now you need st-clair in 4 footers.  how big is the camera?.  mounting it on the engine cover would be a good view.

Or maybe on a real short pipe in the front seat mount hole.  Pointed back at the cockpit or out over the bow.

Or maybe since it's a helmet cam, right on the driver's head?

I've never understood how the FLW guys can operate with that big support belt for the helmet cams.

Thanks guys, I was just testing stuff out and running a worked prop I got back.  :-[ Not quite what I hoped for.
Once I got up on plane there was a terrible noise from a ribbon that was tied to the TM flapping in the wind and that was all you could hear. I just got one of these but I haven't tried it yet: www.lilypod.webs.com

Sweet footage, I don't remember it taking that long to cross Whitmore????

Tom from Anglers marine told me this morning that he was watching a fishing show this past week and they show clips from the Fishers of Men Legacy Championship on Lk. St. Clair and I was on TV.  But he couldn't remember what show it was.

So....now that I am a TV fishing show star, maybe I could star in one of the Nemesis Video's ;D

Does that thing have a wide angle setting...???
