Now this is more like it! If they can pitch like this all season, especially with Bonderman and Zumaya about to return within the next 4 to 6 weeks, we could be looking forward to another post season. Last year was so horrible, I really didn't have any expectations for this year, but I like what I see so far, and with the division being a little on the weak side, that'll help.
I am not so sure they did enough with their pitching..Time will tell...I am going to try to make some more games this year....
On another note I appreciate everything that the Illitch family has done recently for the Auto workers...They could have got millions for that piece of real estate on the fountain and gave it to the big 3....They are a class act in the City of Detroit..Too bad we couldn't get Illitch or Penske to run for Mayor....
I was there opening day and it was just awesome! What a great day at the ole "new" ballpark. Although having Kid Rock sing "Take Me Out to the Ballpark" was not a good call. :P Dude couldn't carry the tune. It was hillarious. I also thought they could have done a little better for the National Anthem than a few guys from the DSO. But still, it was a great day and we ended up with pretty good weather for it. And geez did I ever overeat! Italian Sausage, peanuts, fries, pizza, nachos, beer... Felt totally bloated by the end of the day. ;D ;D ;D
Go Cubs!!!!!
Just remember it is still early. There are 164 games in a season. The bullpen is still suspect. Great lineup. Great depth to the lineup, but....................the pitching overall is still suspect.
BD ;D
Well, thankfully they are in the A.L. Central. First one to 88 wins goes to the playoffs. But, I think the pitching will come around. Rick Knapp is a good pitching coach.
