Title: "original" wiggle warts by Storm versus "pre rapala" or vintage wiggle wa

Got tired of being pounded by "the newest" lures and methods and began to dive into Lures from years past that worked awesome. Reading from FLW Table Rock everyone had a Wiggle Wart, so I just had to ask you guys your opinion on the matter.

In your post, tell me what other "Old school" lure brought you in a sack of fish ?

Thanks.  ;D ;D

I found an old wiggle wart in my father-in-law's shed.  He said go ahead and use it. It was chartreuse with black back and stripes.  I am telling you what, I have knocked 'em out on that lure!  Paint is coming off!  That was just last year!

That was one of the most consistent colors - chartreuse herringbone - something like that. I know someone who has cases of the old green craw in a special safe at home he bought just for that bait.

I caught a lot of fish on them but always liked the Bomber Model A's more.

Wiggle Warts are better in the fall because of their wide wobble.....although I do use them all year round.  I like the V104 and the V110 the best.  Can't find these colors because they don't make them anymore.  They both work good in muddy water.  The V104 is gold chrome with black back and the V110 is yellow gold chrome with black back and orange belly.  Excellent in the hot pond.  You could get lucky on Ebay and find them every so often except they usually get bid up.  They end up going for $15 to $20 bucks plus shipping.  So far the new Mad Flash Series have impressed me.  The white Mad Flash has been quite stellar in the last couple of weeks for me on St. Clair.  Still I think the pre-rapala Wiggle Warts are better.  I wish Rapala would make the V104 and V110 part of their Original Series.

Table Rock and the other Ozark Lakes are super wiggle wart Lakes in Spring especially in April. Crawdad colors like V38, v63 and phantom (clear crawdad and watermelon are good choices. red craw is good also. I only throw v-38(green craw- light brown with black squiggles). My parents had a house on Table Rock in late 80's and all of the 90's. I have a drawer of warts in crawdad colors, plus I probably picked up another 100 in last few years at fishing flea markets. Salmon unlimited swap  has been a gold mine for me the last 3 years. Good Luck- they should work on any clear rocky deep lake..
