i am looking for a used fiberglaas boat and wanting to spend no more than $6,000.... does anyone know a good place where to find some or know somebody with one???
check the used boat section towards the lower end of the forum. D and R Sports in Kalamazoo or Leader's Marine probably have some as well. I would call both and deal, marinas want to move product right now pretty bad.
A couple great sites for used boats are:
www.bassboatcentral.com
www.probass.net
You can find a boat in the 6K range - but a couple things to watch out for. In that price range you will find boats over 10 years old and motors with quite a few hours. You can inspect the hull and accessories easy enough, but be sure to take a good look at the motor. If you are not really familar with them, an inspection by a good mechanic is well worth the money. Lower units are 3K, powerheads 5k+ so make sure you know what you are buying.

Nice boat! I hope you get it!
i hope you bought it mike - cuz thats a helluva deal.
Well, he took my offer today. Gonna pick it up this weekend some time. Trailer needs at least one tire and I think the axle may be off center a bit judging by the odd tire wear on the starboard side. Also, I'm gonna need a good upholstry shop ... recomendations?? Cheaper is better of course! LOL!!
Now... who needs a Tracker???
Sorry to hijack the thread... but if you want a boat under $6000 I'd be prepared to do a little TLC work on most of them. But, there are deals to be had out there for sure.
