Title: Any life here?
Post by: ranttrmike on February 09, 2009, 11:39:44 AM
I see there hasn't been much posted here lately.

Is this a dead board?  Is the club still going?

I see that there was supposed to be a Jan. 2009 meeting, but the question would be when and where are the meetings?  Is there a Feb. meeting?

Thanks.

The club is still going and active. Some of there members still visit this web site regularly. I will see if I can find out any more details from one of them.

Sorry!  I've been swamped since the new year.

We still have monthly meetings, same as always.  first tuesday of the month
Sanford Lake Bar and Grill at 7:00 P.M.

go all the way to the back of the bar, theres usually 10-15 of us there every month.

so come on March 3, and check us out.
we picked lakes for the year already
Sanford, Wixom, Saginaw Bay, Sugar Springs and wiggins lakes.  not in that order though.
and dates, but i don't know them off hand.
we fish 5 club tournaments on Sundays. and a classic in mid/late september.

$55 memebership  i think .
I'm no longer the secretary, but I'll try to get good info.

Chad

Thanks for the info.

What does the $55 include?

once a member you can go to the state
fish off and fish our club tournaments
I'm guessingon the actual amounts, but i think
state dues are $30, so we can fish the state fish off,
and $25 goes towards lots of things
our bass club classic in september
annual winter banquet
paying the ramp fees,
Plaques/trophies
paying entry fee for state fish off
sending some money with members that make the state team.
etc.

i can get exact list if you like

thanks
Chad

Sorry about the lack of posts on this board, Chad did a great job at keeping the meeting minutes up to date and so far I am slacking.  I will post the minutes from the last 3 meetings a soon as I can figure out how to post a PDF file....

And dont forget to check the clubs website if you dont see info on this page.  www.sanfordlakebassclub.com

Create a new post and click the 'Additional Options...' link below it. Use the Attach: browse box to attach a copy of the document from your computer. Then press the Post button. There's a tutorial in the General Info board. The document can't be bigger than 150,000 bytes.

If you already have the document online somewhere, you can just link to it in your post.

FYI, the lake at Sugar Springs is Lancer.

Yeah, but it seems to me that almost everyone else just calls it Sugar Springs.

Okay, smarty pants, as you well know the lake is in the community of Sugar Springs (mailing address is Gladwin) but the name of the lake with the public ramp is Lake Lancer.  I just posted that in case anyone was trying to find info about the ramp (which is operated by Butman Township).

Uh, huh, huh, Butt Man.  Huh, huh.

BTW, lots of people read this board so I was just explaining the Lancer thing in case there were those that wanted more info about it since it is a good lake.  I figured the club that lived up there knew about it.

Okay. Maybe they use less obvious descriptions so not to have as much company? Don't know. Either way, it's hard to figure out what anyone is talking about when it comes to that area when you aren't from that area.
