Title: Boat names
Post by: cr on February 03, 2009, 09:51:07 AM
How many of you name your boat ? I called my last boat The Blue Pearl in reference to the pirates of the caribean movies. I call my new boat the Endora Phins, because I'm addicted to it . My wife wanted me to call it the Gini Lee, after her, until she found out how much I paid for it and then she suggested I name it after me and call it The Ann L Orfuss. (say it fast) . Lets here your boats name or ideas  ::).

I'm driving "White Lightning" right now.  Last owner named her.  Considering she's a rocket, the name stuck.  That's where "lightningboy" came from.

Besides, bad luck to change a boats name, ain't it?

After Lightning arrived, my old tracker became known as "green envy" while they shared garage space.   ::)

I wanted to name my old tracker " Dirty Hooker" but my wife didn't think it was funny at all ....so it never got named. But the newer Skeeter I just got could be called "Crankinstien". When Mark Zona was saying that on the WGFS  I thought OH YEA !!! I like that....

When I lived in Florida in my younger days, I had a Gheenoe with a 30hp Suzuki on it. I'll try to find an old picture of it. I called it "The Bassomatic" after the classic Saturday Night Live episode with Dan Aykroyd.

My first "bass" boat was on old 16 foot deep V aluminum that Blake and I dubbed "Old Blue" because of the blue carpet. I loved that boat..... :'(

My current boat has no name but it's model name is where I got my screen name (Nitro Savage 912).

The non-boaters in my club give me crap about the way I drive, so maybe "White Knuckles" would be the name if I ever put one on it.

Savage, pay no attention to them.  I'm a two speed driver too: idle & wide open.

Like a buddy of mine says, "it ain't no fun if it don't scare you just a little".   ;)

Mine doesn't have a name, but the funniest one I ever saw was a little 2 person pontoon named "No Fat Chicks".  I thought that took some nerve.  My guess is that guy didn't have many dates.

I had an old 76 Galaxy once that I named "The Groove Tub" because it was a groovy yellow with brown and orange shag carpet.  Way groovy.

My uncle had a boat named "Just-A-Strokin' ". He had a picture of Tweety in a small rowboat painted under the name.
