Title: MISSISSIPPI RIVER BASS FISHING STILL STRONG
Post by: LAWRENCE ECKLOR on December 22, 2008, 02:09:30 PM
We are targeting and catching northern pike on ice tip-ups but we are still catching nice largemouth from 3 - 5 lbs. on a regular basis. Large shiners still work best for Bass.  Unlike northern that almost literally swallow the hook deep, the Bass are very good at corner of the mouth hooking so Our catch and release is almost 100%. The season for Bass is open all year round on the river.
