All of us know how great the new fluorocarbon lines can be. On the otherhand though, they seem to get very brittle and curl a lot if not properly stored and taken care of. The Reel Magic or KVD Line and Lure does help some, but only temporarily.
When not being used, though, where do you store you excess line on the spools? I've heard of people storing them in a freezer, but with hard water coming and all, will four or five months in the freezer harm the line? Should I store it in a cool, dark drawer instead?

I store all my extra line, in the crisper compartment in the fridge. I would try to avoid storing any line on extra spools, I've had to many problems in the past, with memory and "loops".
To clear up any confusion, when I said spools, I meant the spools that the line comes on when you buy it; not reel spools.
Thanks for the tip though, MNB.
For any other listening though, what about spraying line with silicone spray before you store it. I've heard this relaxes the line and is essentially the main ingredient in Reel Magic and KVD Line and Lure. Has anyone ever tried this before storing?
