Welcome aboard Kelvin. I'm sure there are some folks in the Flint area who are willing to help out a new angler.
Kelvin, Welcome aboard..
How old are you???
You should look at joining a Bass Club...My Club in Davison, Team Bass is looking for new members and now is the time to come and check us out...You don't have to have a boat we are looking for Co-Anglers for our tournaments..Our next meeting is Oct 26th..
I will have to check, but I think our by-laws state that if you are HS age and stay in school membership is free or reduced by alot...You just have to make it to the meetings..
I think you have to be 16, but I will check on that if you are interested also...
There are also some great junior clubs in the area...
Here is our website
www.teambass.net (http://www.teambass.net)
If you have any questions PM me...Alot of guys in our club and my fishing buddies are from the flint area...
Brian
Hey buddy welcome aboard! I would definatly check out the bass clubs. Dont take the same road i took. Im a man of patience and persistence so i wouldnt fail. it was a long road and things are starting to fall into place! i started when i was 18 and now im 25 and pretty much done it all on my own! i wish this site was available when i started it would've been a huge help to point me in the right direction. but i will say this about the way i came up. if you can learn something everytime your on the water and just keep putting the pieces together youll find your niche. find a strength and fish to it! id suggest smallmouth! im a largemouth fisherman and pretty much learning a new game(with smallies) but a fish is a fish right they all need the same things. Just learn something everytime you put that boat in the water and try everything youve heard about till something FITS U!-skeeterman- pm me anytime if you have any questions or need any help.
Well... Kelvin is definitely a 'kid' at heart because he's extremely eager to learn, but he is a little older than a kid to some of you being in his early 20's (still will seem like a kid to some of us 'old farts' ;D !!)
Some members will be at the Fall Open on Hardy tomorrow. Stop over there if you are close and you can meet a dozen or so members.
No matter what his age Team Bass would be a good place for him to start...
hey moto, what kind of club we talking here. myself and my partner have been fishing a few years and just got ourselves a new (old) but new to us boat, lol. i know we are considering fishing tourneys next year, just checking our options. send me a link or some info in a pm, would be greatly appreciated.
btw, welcome kelvin, since this is your post, lol, i am pretty new here also, but seems this is a good group to learn from. i live in grand blanc, partner lives in swartz creek, we fish all over genessee and oakland county. if you have a boat and wanna hook up sometime to check out some lakes, we would be more than happy to meet you somewhere and show you around.

Welcome Kelvin -
I also live in Davison. If your interested in a great draw trail I would recomend the ABA.
If your interestd I know a few boaters who are looking for a partener to team up with them this Sunday on Fenton & Ponemah lakes to fish the fall Hawg Hunt. This is fun event that has a solid turn out each year. The payout is big for a small local inland lake.
