Josh drew Nate Wellman from Jenison Mi for his first day's ride, I don't know a whole lot about Nate, but Dan does, he had him for a student in school.
From what I read the guy has done fairly well, so here's hoping they do well!!
That's his day 2 draw. He got some guy from California for day 1. The guy from California has had some success too, not a goober atleast. Not that there would be many goobers in the Cup field.
Atleast Josh and Nate should have something in common to talk about on day 2.
Josh is on a pattern and seems comfortable with it. I hope it holds up for him!

Nate is a fishaholic and has had a good year on the FLW trail. His dad owns a truck leasing company here in GR and is Nate's biggest sponsor, so he gets to spend a lot of time on the water.
I had Nate and his sister as a sixth grade students. Josh VanderWeide, who just won the last FLW Walleye Tour event on Bay de Noc, was also a student of mine. The kids always rode me pretty hard because I often brought in fishing analogies to lessons. Maybe it spurred a few on like Josh and Nate to pursue this great sport.
Josh won $100,000 and what a thrill it would be for Nate to take that same karma to the bank on Murray. I hope Josh and Nate have a good day.
I'm going to be watching the weigh-in at 5:00 on FLW Live.
Hey Wendy, how are the fish biting on Hamlin? Are you guys going to fish the Tear Drop event there at the end the month? I don't know if I'm going to be able to prefish. I have a BFL event on the Detroit River the day before it so we'll be down there prefishing.
Funny I sent you an email answering those questions before you asked them here!!
Yes we are going to fish the teardrop and the bite was slow sunday, we didn't get our fifth fish until an hour before weigh in. Check your email I went into a little more detail in that. LOL.
