Tonight (Friday 8/8) from 10 PM E - 11 PM on the History Channel's Shockwave television show, cameraguy is featured on a segment about a plane that crashed into Pontiac Lake back in 1994. cameraguy captured the event on video tape and Shockwave will be using that footage on the show. They'll be talking to cameraguy about the incident along with the unlucky pilot (or lucky, maybe... he's still around to talk about crashing into a lake) and a passenger.
I'm recording the show in case cameraguy misses it while he tapes all that exciting golf at the PGA in Oakland Hills for The Golf Channel.
Any landing you walk away from is a good one ;D
Kind of like the story of the little old lady, after setting down in a very rough landing, asks the pilot, "Sonny, did we just land, or were we shot down?"
That was quite interesting. The guy in the canoe from the white lake fire dept was Kris Fretag a close friend of mine.
Ya know I never watch that show...but somehow, while I was surfing I did cathch just that clip. What amazed me even more was WHO the camera guy was. If I remember, his name was Denns Westerlund. He looks like a guy by the same name that I graduated from high school with. Actually I remember him more from Junior High School. So we're talking 30 years ago or so.
In the clip, it looked like him, well kinda, sounded like him...could this be the very same Dennis Westerlund that went to Carter Jr Hi in Warren, and hung around with Howie LaGorio, Eric Kennedy, and Kurt Westergaard.
Dennis if that's you drop me a message when you get the chance.
If not...wow, you really look like this guy!
Cheers
Not 100% sure without asking cameraguy next time I talk to him, but I think that might have been his name...?
Dennis Westerlund was the guy who was operating the camera for my little show when the plane crashed. It is unlikely that he would see your post though. As far as I know, he is not in the business (TV/video) anymore and doesn't fish. He lives on the east side with his wife and kids.
If you see him or talk to him, tell him Eric Kennedy says HI. feel free to pass along my home e-mail adress ekennedy3120@charter.net
Thanks
