Title: Muskegon lake info
Post by: dartag on August 06, 2008, 04:53:39 PM
Looks like me and my bro are going to fish the One on One at Muskegon Lake.  Never been on the lake.  Any info on the lake would be appreciated.  The big lake is off limits past the pier heads.  Smallies,  Largemouth  ???  Hoping to pre-fish on the 23rd
   PM if you want to.
Thanks

Check your messages.  I sure can't tell you where to fish on that lake, but I can give you lots of places no to fish.  Not my favorite place.

Well here goes ill help ya out with muskegon some, Its a big lake and it fishes kinda small in my eyes. Theres alot of dead water out there. Lots that look good but dont hold many fish. There is a weed flat right outside of fishermans landing that is a community hole but holds both size and numbers.(im not sure if youll be held to off limits in fishermans landing channel?) but if your not fish in there also. Look at a map theres a huge flat in the middle of the lake. Right in front of the Bear lake channel. Its a good area and it holds fish.(Its a big area so really work it over.Somedays there right on top and others there holding near the breaks. I had a friend win a BAU there a few weeks ago off that flat with 16.5 so the size is good also. As far as bait stick to your strengths pretty much anything catches there. I love thrown my wacky rigged Nemesis Stik baits there. Try a spinnerbait and topwater also.-skeeterman-
